Depression, Anxiety, SAD what is bringing you down?

I have heard it one too many times in the past week, "I need to get over this depression" "She has depression" "I need prayers to get through this depressed state"
Why are we living in a world so filled with depressed people? What can we do about it? How do I get over this?
To me it is insane the amount of depressed people in a small area. There are many ways to get through this problem. Now, I am not a doctor, I am a fitness trainer who is genuinely concerned for the health of others especially those with whom I am in close contact with. My own children have battled depression and have gotten it under control and I could not for the life of me figure out why they had such a problem. So much so that I kind of pushed the issue aside because of my disbelief.
Over the past few years I have become much more aware of what I eat and what I put on my body and what I clean my home and clothes with. Did you know DRYER SHEETS have toxic chemicals in them? When I learned about this I stopped using dryer sheets and started using wool dryer balls infused with my essential oils instead.
How do I get over this or through it or battle it? Lindsey Elmore, a pharmacist, has some great information in answer to that!
I have my own answers due to what I know gets me out of my blah moods and here is my list:
Deep breathing with or without an unadulterated essential oil
Eat healthy
Get at least 6 hours of sleep every night
Get out in the sunshine for at least 5 minutes every day
Ground yourself - while standing in the sunlight on the grass, do so barefooted
STOP using toxic chemicals -
Here's to beating depression!
